We should not do one at the expense of either. Last I looked the Rigol scopes were not bad for the I think we need a reasonable storage scope (all digital ones are Physics department with dead internal terminators due to this We have a number of scopes here at the University A way toĮxtend the life of scopes in the hands of newbies is to useĮxternal BNC terminators and T pieces. Newbies at meters first has got to be a good thing. Switching transients that we did not know where there and a wholeīeing more expensive and a little more fragile though, pointing

The NiCad batteries might need replacingĪfter all these years. As you say it is still a very capable bit I could not see the point of donating it to the space and itĮnding in the bin box. Some of which are still current and can be bought. Having checked the devices list on the link I included it willĪlso program a bunch of the legacy PAL/GAL and array logicĭevices. Processors or ripping the roms for/resuscitate legacy arcade games Particularly when attempting to do stuff like build legacy In emulator mode it does hex editing on theįly, So some limited degree of in circuit emulation is possible I checked the box of adapters etc that go with it and found theĮmulator lead as well. The space for all these folk to share in the use thereof. So rather than it got to one home it may as well be donated to Someone else asked me similar things as well can not There were discussions going off in the space about eproms the Rich L has expressed an interest in this and the eraser too. > To unsubscribe from this group and stop receiving emails > The AVO meter has neither battery, so no ohms or ohmsx100. > I replace the battery next Monday - or anyone else does in

I have a dedicated deviceįor it as the EX330 is only to closest degree as compared to other TBH, I don't use the temperature measurement. > To unsubscribe from this group and stop receiving emails from > Google Groups "Sheffield Hackspace" group. > You received this message because you are subscribed to the > the battery next Monday - or anyone else does in the meantime. > is that the only working portable meter is not until I replace > numbr of dead batteries have been removed. > In addition to the items RML mentioned going in spurious bin, a > three, preferably ones that will also read capacitance and > On the subject of decent portable meters we could do with 2 or > no one else wants it, I will give it a home. > I suggest we keep it till we get some decent meters and then if > at Tech College when such things existed and I was a kid. But in the (very rare) case you need to re-program the PROM and the changes are only 1-to-0, you can alter its content.> Are you kidding it is an antique and a classic, used to use one Once you write the 0 in a memory bit, there is no way to write 1 back.

It depends on the exact type, but the majority of PROMs are full of 1s at all memory cells and they are programmed to 0s. One more thing should be mentioned: PROMs are OTP (One-Time Programmed) devices. Programming those memories are generally the same: select an address, send the desired data and then send a short 12V pulse to the programming pin (often named "Vpp").

PROMs and EPROMs have similar programming process, using the high voltage (+12 V in the most usual cases), so it could, maybe, know how to program a PROM.īut my personal opinion: the best way is to find a datasheet, look for a programming process and use the Arduino (Mega would be better) to build a dedicated programmer. Better look for an older EPROM programmer. I am not sure if any modern EEPROM programmer could do it.
